  • HAZARDS - a dangerous phenomenon, ingredient, human activity or state.
  • NATURAL HAZARDS - environmental phenomena that have the potential to impact societies and the human environment.
  • BIOLOGICAL HAZARDS - may include bacteria, viruses, insects, plants, birds, animals, and humans.
  • RADIOACTIVE HAZARDS - Exposure to very high levels of radiation
  • NON-IONIZING RADIATION - A type of low-energy radiation
  • CHEMICAL HAZARDS - is simply the risks involved with using a chemical

  • ASPHYXIANTS - deprive the body of oxygen.
  • CORROSIVE - A substance  capable of destroying or eating away by chemical action
  • IRRITANT - causes a part of your body to itch (ACID, SOLVENT, SULFUR).
  • SENSITIZING AGENTS - any foreign substance capable of inducing a state of altered reactivity in which the recipient reacts with an immediate or delayed exaggerated response.
  • CARCINOGENS - substance that causes cancer.
  • MUTAGENS - Anything that causes a mutation
  • TERATOGENS - substances that cause congenital disorders
  • PHYSICAL HAZARD - can cause harm with contact
  • ERGONOMIC HAZARDS - an applied science concerned with designing and arranging things
  • NOISE - most common physical hazards present in the occupational setting.

    Class 4: Flammable Solids.

    Class 9: Miscellaneous materials
