  • College Admission Letter
    Shows your interest in the university while justifying why you are qualified at the same time. Serves as a cover letter.
  • HEADING
    Contains the return address with the date on the last line.
  • INSIDE ADDRESS
    Recipient’s details. Includes name, title, and address of the admission officer or the relevant department at the college.
  • SALUTATION
    The word/phrase of greeting that conventionally comes immediately before the body of a letter.
  • BODY
    Present academic qualifications, extracurricular involvement, community activity engagements, and some personal qualities with specific evidence. Separate paragraphs by theme (one for academic qualification, and one for extracurriculars). State the benefits the university can obtain by admitting you.
  • COMPLIMENTARY CLOSE
    Short and polite remark that ends your letter. Begins at the same justification as your date and one line after the last body paragraph.
  • SIGNATURE
    Skip at least four lines after complimentary close for this, then type out the name to be signed.
  • TIPS
    1. Content – clear and direct to the point
    2. Language – active voice, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and usage.
    3. Format and Mechanics – business letter format, font size (10-12).
