Use & Abuse of Animals

• Animal testing - when humans use animals for medical experiments or to test cosmetic products
• Some people argue that animal testing is cruel
• Others argue from a utilitarian view, which means they believe in choices that result in the most good. This might mean they believe testing life-saving medicine on animals is the right thing to do
• Some people argue that we are built to eat meat e.g. because of our canine teeth
• Others argue that killing animals for our consumption is wrong, and that animal farming is cruel. They might say we should be vegetarian or vegan
