One of Allah’s characteristics is ‘Al-Adl’ meaning ‘the just’. Muslims therefore strive to be fair and to promote justice in their daily lives. One of the meanings of islam is ‘peace’ through promoting human rights and equality. Muslims hope to help obtain this for everyone
Hadith (sahih Al-Bukhari56: 681) the prophet Muhammed is quoted as saying ‘by Allah, if my daughter Fatimah committed theft, i would cut off her hand’ the verse means that - the prophet was committed to treating everyone equally
