    universal deceleration of Human Rights
  • One of Allah’s characteristics is ‘Al-Adl’ meaning ‘the just’. Muslims therefore strive to be fair and to promote justice in their daily lives. One of the meanings of islam is ‘peace’ through promoting human rights and equality. Muslims hope to help obtain this for everyone 
  • Hadith (sahih Al-Bukhari 56: 681) the prophet Muhammed is quoted as saying ‘by Allah, if my daughter Fatimah committed theft, i would cut off her hand’ the verse means that - the prophet was committed to treating everyone equally
    1. Islam teaches that Muslims are not allowed to convert people to islam by force. They are taught to be sensitive to other people’s religious beliefs . Eg. they are forbidden to insult the idols of other religions. Some Muslims think that only Muslims can go to paradise when they die
    • Religious Exclusivit: Says only their faith is true and other religions are false
    • Religious Inclusivist: says their faith is completely right and other religions have only part of the truth
    • Religious Pluralist: says that all faiths have an equal claim to truth

    holding biased opinions about an individual or group
  • Quran (Surah 7: 155-156) Allah says 

    'I shall ordain My mercy for those who are conscious of God and pay for the prescribed alms': people who remember Allah and give Zakah will receive Allah's mercy

    muslims are expected to give 2.5% of their income and savings after they have taken care of their families to charities

    the qur'an teaches that Allah created everyone and so each life is special. This is known at the sanctity of life. This means that each person is sacred. Following this teaching means that muslim should be respectful to all

    Islam teaches that it is best for acts of charity to be done in private. Muslims believe that helping the poor is important and the more difficult it is, the more valuable it is to God. The Qur'an teaches that a charitable act should be done purely for the sake of God
