    -used when looking for a difference between paired data (repeated measures or matched pairs) which generated nominal data
  • how to work out the sign test
    1. is the hypothesis directional or non-directional
    2. work out the sign - (+ or - or 0)
    3. calculate the value of S (add up the number of pluses and minuses and selecting the smaller value)
    4. calculate the value of N (total number of scores minus any 0 scores
    5. find the critical value
    6. determine whether the results are significant, the calculated value must be equal or less than the critical value
    7. draw a conclusion
