  • Christians will read the Bible and Jews will read the Torah when deciding what is a moral action. They may also seek advice of religious leaders e.g. rabbi or priest
  • Christians believe it to be the voice of God. Ignoring your conscience could lead to crime. Misusing your free will could also lead to wrong actions
  • Christian's follow Jesus' teachings such as forgiveness "forgive 70x7"
  • Have an absolute approach meaning their view about an action does not change. E.g. murder is always wrong regardless of the situation
  • Have a relative approach meaning their view changes on the situation
  • Christians may follow ethical theories such as:
    • Divine Command Theory (an action is right if it follows the commands of God)
    • Situation Ethics (a theory which looks at the situation and prioritises agape)
    • Virtue Ethics (a theory which looks at developing virtues such as justice)
    • Natural Law (a theory that argues that God has given human reason to make decisions)
  • Avoid actions which are sins. A sin is a action that goes against God
