    People - (a group of human beings) students, Associates and staff with a commitment to reach the "University" world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ
  • GHAFES
    An acronym for the Ghana Fellowship of Evangelical Students, a national movement of Inter and non denominational evangelical Christian Fellowships in the Universities and other Tertiary Institutions in Ghana

    • Linked with the work of Christian lecturers from the British IVF (now UCCF) in the late 1950's and early 1960's

    2. Meetings were followed by tea and biscuits, and soon became known as Bible study, prayer and tea Fellowships
  • Formation of University Christian Fellowship (UCF) and Inter Hall Christian Fellowship (IHCF) of Legon and UST respectively
    • Some of these students got converted and banded together on their own initiative to form the Fellowships
  • Formation of the Fellowship at UCC
    • Formed later by students who had been members of Scripture Union (also pioneered by IVF) in their secondary schools
  • First major programme of these Fellowships was a mission at Legon with Rev. John Stott

    Talks started among the three Fellowships and in 1966 at a conference in Aburi, GIUCF was born

    Affiliated to the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES), a world wide interdenominational evangelical movement currently linking student work in over 130 countries with over 300,000 members
  • Name changed to Ghana Fellowship of Evangelical Students (GHAFES)

    • Made up of Over 40 member Fellowships, grouped into four zones and served by Zonal ministry coordinators, Campus ministry Coordinators and Associate staff

    Lead students to worship God, to be instructed in the faith, to fellowship with each other and to reach out in witness through evangelism and social action to non Christians

  • Students National Executive Committee (SNEC)
    Presidents and Secretaries of all GHAFES fellowships meet every year for SNEC Congress to report and plan for the ministry
  • Logo comprising an open book, the Cross and a flame representing the Bible, the Cross of Christ and the Holy Spirit was adopted
