• zero correlation - no relationship found
• curvilinear relationshops - one increases as does another but only to a certain point
• pro - used as starting point
• pro - quick and economic to carry out
• pro - secondary data used which reduces time spent
• con - difficult to establish cuase and effect
• con - issue of a third variable - unaware of and responsible for relationship
• con - correlation can be misused or misinterpreted
