• Strophic

  • The SAME tune is repeated over and over again but the words change.
• Middle 8

  • A section in the middle of a song that is used to keep

  the listener from getting bored. Sounds different to

  verse/chorus.
• Coda

  • A section of music at the end of a piece of music that rounds it all off.
• Theme & Variation

  • The main theme (tune/melody) is repeated but changed so you don’t get bored.
• Binary

  • 2 sections of music (AB) that are different.
• Ternary

  • 3 sections of music (ABA) the last section is the same as the first one.
• Rondo

  • The first section is always repeated in between each new part. ABACAD
