  • The word polygon is a Greek word. Poly means many and gon means angles.
  • Parts of a Polygon:
    1. Side
    2. Vertex
    3. Interior Angle
    4. Exterior Angle
    5. Diagonal
  • Side: One of the line segments that make up a polygon.
  • Vertex: A point where two sides meet.
  • Interior Angle: An angle formed by two adjacent sides inside the polygon.
  • Exterior Angle: An angle formed by two adjacent sides outside the polygon.
  • Types of Polygon:
    1. Regular Polygon
    2. Equiangular Polygon
    3. Equilateral Polygon
    4. Convex Polygon
    5. Concave Polygon
  • Equiangular Polygon: A polygon in which all angles are equal.
  • Regular Polygon: A polygon where all the angles are equal and all of the sides are the same length. They are both equiangular and equilateral.
  • Equilateral Polygon: A polygon in which all sides are the same length.
  • Convex Polygon: A polygon whose each of the interior angles measures less than 180°.
  • Concave Polygon: A polygon that has at least one or more than one interior angle that measures greater than 180°.
