• Drink Driving Law:

  • Drink Driving Laws did not come about until 1925
  • When laws came into affect many people did not agree
  • As more people owned cars there was a greater increase of fatalities in traffic by making seat belts compulsory in 1966
  • In 1983 wearing seatbelts in the front of the car became compulsory
• ”Think!”

  • 50 Years of drink driving campaigns have led to reduction from 1640 drink driving fatalities to 200 per year
  • In 1979 half of males surveyed said they drank and drove compared to 91% of people surveyed by THINK! Believed drink driving was wrong.
