Biological Causes

    Subdecks (1)

    Cards (5)

      1. Abnormal Build up of Beta-Amyloid
forms plaque in between synapse of neurons, interfering with neural connections
    • 2. Cell Death
      • protein build-up, low connections and causes Neurofibrillary Tangles; tendency to cell death
    • 3. Lack of Acetylcholine
      • A memory neurotransmitter. Alzheimer's destroys the neurons that produce the neurotransmitter
    • 4. Brain Atrophy
      • occurs when neurons die, due to amyloid plaques and Neurofibrillary Tangles increasing, causes brain tissue to shrink and cause Brain Atrophy
