    you dont know who to vote for, all your friends vote one person and talk how about good they are. you also vote for them as you became convinced by their arguments. in the future you carry on voting for this person.
  • identification is public and private acceptance of majority influence in order to gain group acceptance
  • identification is where private agreement will change bit it's likely to change once the individual decides to leave the group. So change isnt permanent.

    you just started college and made new friends who all support the same football team. you start wearing the kit and go to games. however, a month later, you make new friends and switch to supporting their favourite team instead.
