• Fiction - literary work based on imagination, not factual
• Nonfiction - literary work based on facts, true to life
• Canon - in literature, this is the collection of works that are considered to be the best
• Poetry - written composition consisting of lines arranged according to rhythmic pattern
• Fernando Amorsolo - first awarded as National Artist for Painting
• Jose Garcia Villa - pen name Dovenglion; known for the tartness of his tongue.
• 21st Century literature - refers to the new literary works that are written in the 21st century.
• Drama - a composition in verse or prose, usually dramatic in character, that is intended to be performed before an audience
• Novel - literature that is compose of more than 40,000 words
• Novella - a short novel, usually a fictional narrative, typically of a humorous or sentimental nature
• illustrated novel - story through text and illustrated images. It contains 50% illustration and 50% text.
• Graphic novel - stand-alone stories with more complex plots.
• Manga - A Japanese comic book, typically featuring a single character or a group of characters in a series of short stories
• Shonen Manga - Manga for boys, usually action-oriented. 10-18 years old
• Shoujo Manga - Girls' manga, usually featuring cute girls and romance. 10-18 years old
• Kodomomuke Manga - children manga, often feature stories with plots that emphasize moral lessons. 4-10 years old
• Text-talk Novels - novels that are written in the form of text messages, emails, and instant messages
• Chick lit - consists of fiction that is typically written by female authors, centered around female protagonist.
• Flash Fiction - very short story, there is no set word count
• Six-word flash fiction - an entire story told in six words.
• Blog - A weblog, a website containing short articles. Some blogs are written containing the own opinion of the writer.
• Digi-fiction - a genre of fiction that combines elements of digital media with traditional narrative forms. three media - book, movie/video and internet website.
• Doodle fiction - genre where the author incorporates doodle writing and drawing.
• Creative non-fiction - a genre of writing that combines fact and fiction to create a narrative that is both informative and entertaining. artistic way of facts.
• Science fiction - futuristic concepts, science and technology, space, time travels.
• Hyper poetry - digital poetry that uses links and hypertext mark-up
