• 1. set up a boiling test tube, 5cm away from the light source, measure using a ruler
  2. fill the tube with a fixed volume of sodium hydrogen carbonate solution
  3. put the pondweed into the solution and let in settle for 5 minutes
  4. count the bubbles released in one minute
  5. record the amount of bubbles in a table
  6. repeat the practical at different distances e.g 10cm, 15cm, 20cm
