  • Hippocampus
    Function: The centre of emotions, memory and the conscious nervous system.
  • Amagdala
    Function: Involved in the way we process emotions. There is two of them.

    Function: Controls the reception and correlation of sensory information.
  • Frontal lobe
    Function: Controls behaviour, personality and conscious movement.
  • Occipital lobe
    Function: It processes visual information.
  • Temporal Lobe
    Function: Involved in the understanding of speech.
  • Cerebral Cortex
    Function: General consciousness.
  • Brainstem
    Function: Responsible for human survival needs such as heartrate, breathing and blood pressure.
  • Hypothalamus
    Function: To keep the body in homeostasis. To do this, it manages the bodies hormone.
  • Pituitary gland
    Function: Controls the release of hormones that affect other glands. It's sometimes known as "The Master Gland".
  • Thalamus
    Function: The primary relay system within the brain. It has an important role in human sleep.
  • Ventricles of the brain
    Function: They produce and secrete cerebrospinal fluid to protect other parts of the nervous system.
  • Corpus callosum
    Function: Communication between the two hemispheres of the brain.
