  • france captured the ruhr because germany couldn‘t pay its reparations
  • the workers tried were told to passively resist but this just lead to the french bringing its own workers
  • the french left the ruhr in 1925
  • the government told workers to passively resist
  • the government printed more money to pay the workers of the ruhr as they were striking, this lead to hyperinflation
  • advantages of hyperinflation:
    • debts become less
    • farmers were payed lots for their goods
  • disadvantages of hyperinflation:
    • savings became worthless
    • everything goes up in price drastically
    • businesses went bankrupt
