  • Contours can be used to show how steep or gentle slopes are by measuring the difference in height between one contour and another.
  • Bearings have three figures. For example 90° would be 090
  • Patterns of settlement: Dispersed, isolated, linear, nucleated
  • Ridge: A long, narrow, raised part of a surface, esp. a high edge of a hill or mountain
  • Plateau: An area of fairly level high ground.
