  • Start and end of the dance
    Start: Boxes pushed into center, create catwalk shape, SLC walks to the back of the stage, then to front to move blocks on metal box
    End: SLC enters the now vertical metal box at end of vertical wall
  • F+C: 2 movements and analysis
    -LM is freed from his box and quickly rolls out of it
    -SLC is directed to be contained in a metal box at the end of the section
  • O+NC: 3 movements and analysis
    -Traditional kung fu is performed in canon, which creates a dragon shape: the monks move to the left and then back to the right: Movement begins with a breathing motion (fingertips touching, palms up, moves upwards, palms down, moves downwards), defensive punches and kicks, moment of stillness (wide stance, one arm bent over head with fist, other arm fist facing down in right angle), prayer pose (arms come up over head, palms together then down to chest)

    -Student/teacher relationship between LM and older monk, LM imitates his punching movements

    -Movement is in canon but monks are close together performing the same actions, china's collectivist culture
  • JoA: 2 movements and analysis
    -SLC standing on platform, monks crouching beside it (diff levels=outsider)

    -SLC builds the block structure with little blocksas the monks perform their movements, monk comes over and SLC quickly stands up straight, looking anxious/sheepish and eager to see how monk reacts, monk hits the blocks and SLC is upset
  • B+D: 1 movement and analysis
    -Monk destroys SLC's block building
  • Set and analysis
    Wall built to protect from invaders (Old china), metal box facing different way = SLC outsider and not accepted yet (JoA)
