• The average funeral cost in the UK now stands at £3785. 12% of people faced with a funeral struggle to pay for it, and that people in this group take on an average debt of £1990.
• In 2017-18 the average total payment for successful funeral expenses payment applications was £1461 - around 39% of the average cost of a simple funeral.
