    • Ppl in the Northern hemisphere = Low levels of Vit. D --> Affect bone & muscle health
    • UK: recommend taking 10 ug of vitamin D supplement between October & March (insufficient sunlight to produce vitamin D in the skin)
  • US: only High-risk groups take
    • Ppl w/ limited skin exposure to sun
    • People w/ darker skin
    • > 65 years old
    • Pregnant/ Breast feeding women
    • Children up to age 5
