Predestination: Some Sunni Muslims believe that God has already determinedeverythingthatwillhappenintheuniverse and recorded this in his "bookofdecrees"
Some Sunni Muslims believe that because God's will is so powerful, he can make anything happen
Some Sunni Muslims believe that because of God's will, humans therefore do not have freedom to change their destiny or overall plan God has created for them
To support the view on God's will, the Qur'an says "Only what God has decreed will happen to us"
In contrast to Sunni beliefs on predestination, many Shi'a Muslims believe that God knows everything that is going to happen, however he does not decide what is.
Many Shi'a Muslims believe that God is the creator of time, so therefore he is not bound by it and can see into the past, present and future
To support the view on people's free will, the Qur'an says "God does not change the condition of a people unless they change what is in themselves"
Even though God knows everything that will happen, on Judgement Day, Muslims are still responsible for their actions
On the Day of Judgement, God will reward or punish people for their actions
Predestination is the idea that God determines everything that will happen in the universe
Predestination
God has already determined what will happen : Sunni
God has knows but does not decide what will happen : Shi'a
Shia Muslims do not believe in predestination as strongly as some Sunnis because they believe that humans have free will
The three stages in life after death for muslims are:

The Day of Judgement
Heaven or hell
