• Consumer rights act of 2015 is legislation deigned to safeguard consumers from faulty products by giving them certain rights
• Consumer rights act includes:

  -good to be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, as described and right to reject goods, compensation for damage to device
• Sale of goods act is 1979 the primary piece of legislation regulating the selling and buying of goods in the UK
• Sale of goods act includes that goods bought and sold in the UK have a price which when paid transfers the goods from seller to buyer, must meet description and meet expectation of the product
• Health and safety executive (HSE) is a national independent watchdog for work related health, safety and illness

  Employers should ensure the workplace is safe and free from risks to health, dangerous items and substances are safely used and stored, training or PPE provided

  This includes RIDDOR 2013
• Health and safety work act 1974, the procedures to safeguard the risk of injury to people: personal protective equipment, signage and warning symbols

  If not followed there can be legal action, criminal lawsuits and fines
• COSHH (control of substances hazardous to health) is the storage and use of solvent based substances containing volatile organic compounds which is why a hazardous symbol is used
