Fossils

• 'Ardi' was 4.4 million years ago, may have walked upright and had long arms and toes to climb trees. Skull capacity = 350cm^3
• 'Lucy' was 3.2 million years ago, probably walked upright and had curved toes. Skull capacity = 400cm^3.
• 'Leakeys fossil finds' were 1.6 million years ago, walked upright and were strongly built. Skull capacity = 850cm^3.
• Over time, tools gradually became more complex showing humans were developing bigger brains.
• Pentadactyl limb is evidence for evolution as it shows similar bone structures in different species implying that they evolved from a common ancestor.
