  • What is an "Action code" ?
    An event in the narrative that tells the audience
    that some action will appear.
  • What is an "Active audience" ?
    Audiences who actively engage in selecting media products to consume and interpret their meanings.
  • What is an "Anchorage" ?
    An image that has different perspectives of it (but make sure that the image shows its meaning).
  • What does "Appeal" mean?
    Where products attract and interest audiences through the use of stars, genre conventions, etc...
  • What does "Aspirational" mean?
    Something that encourages the reader/audience to want more money, make market consumer items, and have a higher social position.
  • What does "Attract" mean?
    How media producers appeal to their audiences to encourage them to purchase their product(s).
  • What does "Audience Categorization" mean?

    Segmenting audience based on characteristics. (e.g. by age, gender, ethnicity, etc...)
  • What does "Audience consumption" mean?
    Audiences engage with the media products (playing video games, reading blogs, watching a tv program, etc... )
  • What does "Audience Interpretation" mean?
    Understanding how an audience perceives and makes sense of a message or performance.
  • What does "Audience Response" mean?
    Feedback
  • What is "Brand Identity" ?
    Image and perception. (e.g. Nike, Channel, etc...)
  • What is a "Broadsheet" ?
    A type of Newspaper.
  • What is a "Caption" ?
    Words that accompany an image that explains it's meanings.
