Government Department Relationships

• The government department, Ministry of Justice, is responsible for court and tribunals, and prison and probation.
• The government department, the Home Office, is responsible for setting national policing priorities.
• The government departments also provide funding for parts of the justice system. This funding comes out of general taxation.
