  • Interruptions from calls, visits from colleagues, emails etc.

    Learn to politely control the conversation and suggest meeting at another appropriate time e.g. lunch or after work.
  • Taking on too much work
    Be assertive and learn to say "no". Discuss your workload with line manager.
  • Desk Stress
    Avoid clutter by making appropriate use of the desk filing trays. Operate a clear desk policy at the end of the day to ensure everything is filed back into its 'home'.
  • Procrastination
    Use a to-do list or a priorities list and stick to it. Ensure that one task is fully completed before another task is started.
  • Making unnecessary journeys
    Create a to-do list and group jobs together so that certain trips are only made once.
