  When 14 a girl found out that her father planned to give her away to an older man in marriage. She tried to run away but her family tracked her down. Before they could get ti her shevwent ti a District Officer who told her about a rescue centre which would be able to save her from early marriage and give her a chance at getting an education. Her father tried to take her from the centre but wasn’t allowed to so he disowned her.
