  • Verbal Irony - the phrasing of words in a manner that what you mean is the opposite of what you said
  • Situational Irony - this is also known as an event irony, as this involves a realization that the opposite of what is meant to occur takes place. This shows a disparity between what you expect from happening and what, in fact, does.
  • Dramatic Irony - the viewer of the readers know something that the character does not know of.
