Social learning theory

• the four stages of social learning theory are attention, retention, reproduction and motivation
• retention refers to our ability to remember what we have learned
• attention refers to how we selectively focus on certain information while ignoring other information
• reproduction refers to our ability to apply what we have learned to new situations
• motivation refers to why we want to learn something
• motivation refers to the drive to engage in behavior
• the social learning theory describes how people learn through observation and imitation of others.
• Vicarious Reinforcement: Reinforcement of a behavior that is observed in another person.
