    • African americans were restricted by the jim crow laws
    • To control immigration, there were quotas set on the amount of people allowed in the country per year.
    • African americans were targeted by groups such as the KKK.
    • During the 1920s there was a ban on alcohol called prohibition which was initiated by the temperance movement
    • america decided to not get involved in other conflicts outside of their own country and they called this laissez faire
    • due to the amount of racial abuse, many African Americans decided that they would travel to the south from the north
    • to help out businesses, low taxation was introduced to help out smaller businesses
    • tariffs were introduced which ended up cutting off foreign markets for farmers which in turn made farmers lose profits.
