• Believe the nuclear family is the best type (works the best)
• Women should be carer in the family
• Men should be the breadwinner/protector
• Children are more likely to be stable adults if brought up by both parents
• New Right is against gay and lesbian rights, single parenthood, and fatherless families
• Believes that family values are important
• Family members have to look after eachother (work together)
• Thinks that family values are decreasing which has put the nuclear family at risk
• New Right doesn't like that modern families are changing (worried it will impact males)
• Believes that children in the nuclear family are better educationally, physically, socially, and psychologically
• If someone in the family is old, sick, unemployed or homeless then other family members have to help and support them
• Don't like same sex families
• Masculinity crisis because of missing father figures
• Don't like the growth of lone parent families
• Don't like divorce
• Thinks this is causing a crisis in society
• Evaluation: Not everyone raised in lone parent families will live like this. They ignore the negative factors of family as to why the family would want a divorce
