• In a democracy people have political rights
• People have the right to vote in elections
• People have the responsibility of registering to vote and vote when an election takes place
• People have the right to freedom of speech
• People have the responsibility of being truthful and accurate in what they say and try to make sure they do not offend others
• People have the right to stand for election
• People have the responsibility to take standing for election seriously, be honest towards others and only make points and promises to voters that they intend on delivering
• It is important that people behave responsibly in a democracy like the UK as they are trusted with these responsibilities and just have to hope they do the right thing
