  Add equal or excess amount of Benedict's solution to food sample

  Place in hot water bath for a few minutes

  If there is a lot of sugar it will be brick red
• If there's is more sugar present it will be yellow
• If there's small amount of sugar it will be green
• Benedict's test only works for reducing sugar such as glucose
• Benedict's test will not work for non reducing sugars such as sucrose
