  • Drawing Board- provides a straight working edge necessary for contracting horizontal and vertical lines.
  • T-Square- is used to construct horizontal lines. Has two parts called the blade and the head
  • Fixed Head- the head is fastened to the blade. It is used for ordinary work
  • Movable Head or Adjustable Head- it has one fixed and one adjustable head and used only for occassional drawing
  • Detachable Head or Removable Head- It is designed for comfort when carrying the T-Square.

  • Hard Rubber Eraser- is used to remove dark heavy lines.
  • Soft Rubber Eraser- is used to remove light lines and to clean smudges.
  • Vinyl Eraser- used to remove plastic lead lines from the polyester drawing film.
  • Special Ink Eraser- are also available for removing ink lines on paper and drafting films.
  • Erasing Shield- is made of flat thin metal or plastic with cutouts of various sizes and shapes.
  • Cutter, Sharpener, Sandpaper- are various tools used for creating sharp conical pencil points.
  • Dusting Brush- is used to remove loose dirt particles that collect on the drawing.
  • French Curve- is made of clear plastic and is used for drawing a noncircular curve.
  • Flexi-Curve- Is another tool used for drawing irregular curves.
  • Templates- used for drafting symbols or repetitive figures.
  • Drafting Machine- is a combination of several drafting tools in a single contraption.
  • Masking Tape- is used for fastening the drawing paper on the drawing table or drawing board.
  • Lettering- is the process by which letters, including numbers are composed for providing ease and speed in communicating ideas.
  • Gothic Style- have uniform width element. Commonly used in billboard signs, posters, and cards.
  • Roman- having "accented strokes" or are made up of a thick and thin element.
  • Old Roman Style- composed of Early Classic Renaissance. Used for buildings and for inscriptions and titles.
  • Modern Roman- easy to read but difficult to draw and is generallly used in printing newsppaers, magazines, and books.
  • Text- includes all types of Old English texts, like the Church text, block text, and German text. Widely used in diplomas, certificates, bibles, land titles, and wedding invitations.
  • Script- are writings of the ordinary cursive form commonly used in wedding invitations, diplomas, certificates, and Christmas Cards
  • Italic- are slanted used in the heading of newspapers, columns, and advertisements.
  • Point- represents a location in a particular space on a given drawing.
  • Line- refers to the shortest distance between two points.
