• the wildest of war whoops continually ululating through the glittering canyons and gulches
• no stockades can keep the midnight out
• broken bones, harsh screaming from coldwater flats
• blood glazed on the sidewalk
• jumbo sized dentist drill
• helicopter skirting like a damaged insect
• but now midnight has come in from foreign places
