    • Ligaments connect bone to bone. They are tough connective tissues that holds bones together to form the joint.
    • Ligaments help keep joints stable and prevent unwanted movement that might cause injury.

    • Tendons connects the muscle to the bone so that when the muscle contracts the muscle can pull the bone to move
    • Cardiac muscle (heart) is unconsciously controlled
    • Involuntary muscles contract slowly and rhythmically and are controlled unconsciously (blood vessels)
    • Voluntary muscles are the skeletal muscles.they are consciously controlled
    • The deltoid is at the top of the shoulder and abducts the arm at the shoulder.
    • The pectoralis major is at the front of the upper chest and adducts the arm at the shoulder.
    • The external obliques are between the lower ribs and abdomen. They rotate the trunk and helps pull the chest down.
    • The biceps are the front of the upper arm and allow flexion of the arm at the elbow.
    • the triceps are at the back of the upper arm and allow extension of the arm at the elbow.
    • The quadriceps are at the front of the upper leg and allow extension of the leg at the knee.
    • The hamstring are at the back of the upper leg and allow flexion of the leg at the knee.
    • The tibialis anterior is at the front of the lower leg and allows dorsi flexion at the ankle
    • The hip flexors are at the very top of front upper leg and allows flexion of the leg at the hip
    • The gluteus maximus are in the buttocks and allow extension of the leg at the hip
