    • To achieve this mission, Gale papers Ltd needs to focus on quality control and quality culture.
  • “Their main competitors stopped trading. As a result, serveral big retailers started to order from Gale papers Ltd. This increase in demand led to significant changes in the buisness.“
    • It is clear that the unexpected rise in demand within Gale papers Ltd (due to their competitors shutting down) has led to a range of decisions that overlooks the needs and wants of their permanent staff and ignores buisness goals.
    • The catalysis for change was due to their competitors stopping trading, leading to a increase in demand.

    • Aled and Gethin Had control over decisions, leaving only little input from employees.
    • Lacks creativity - Lacks staff input
    • Lacks employee morale - increase in staff turnover

    FW Taylor:
    • Taylors management theory has close links with the concept of an autocratic management style, where the managers have control over decisions and order people below them.
    • Staff close came to dislike Taylors approach as their tasks were getting repetitive, therefore there was an increase in staff turnover and dissatisfaction.

    Paternalistic management style:
    • Dominant authority figure who builds a relationship with employees to develop trust and obedience.
    • Considering the lack of trust between the employees and Aled and Gethin, a paternalistic management style, will build a form of loyalty, making employees feel heared and their needs are met.

    • Summaries autonomy into three aspects: mastery, purpose and autonomy.
    • Autonomy allows employees time and space to come up with ideas, allowing Gale papers Ltd to surround with innotative ideas. This allows employees to be engaged with buisness activites.
  • Issue 1 - ”only 30 minutes of training“ “errors and mistakes were made”
    • Unsafe work environment
    • Under the health and saftey work act, there are legal obligations, to ensure employees recieve the nescessary training, information and supervision.
    • Decrease employee morale - Increase staff absenses
    Negative work culture - Less productivity - lack consicency of operations - Increased costs due to trianing to new staff if current ones leave.

    Figure 1 indicates the decrease in employee satisfaction from 65% in 2021 to 30% in 2023. A drop of 35%.

    • Instructs how to develop skills to enhance peformance.

    • Setting employees specific goals in order for them to work towards.

    • Reviewing effectiveness and progress towards metting the objectives within a time frame

    • Evaluate what is being acheived well and where the gaps are.
