  Lives on host's scalp, pierces skin and sucks their blood

  Genus: pediculus
• What are the adaptations of headlice?

  -claws on ends of legs hold onto hairs and attach to other hairs

  -mouthparts pierce skin and enter capillaries to suck blood

  -eggs are glued onto the hairs
