Practical skill 1 variables

• Identify each of these variables:

  independent variable: a variable you change

  dependent variable: a variable you measure

  control variables: a variable that says the same
• Know which graph to draw when given different data

  If the dependent variable is numerical and the independent variable are words: draw a bar chart

  If the dependent variable is numerical and the independent variable is numerical: draw a line graph
• Independent variables are always on the left row on a table
• Independent variables go on the x axis and dependent variables go on the y axis.
