Marasmus results from a general lack of
energy
foods (especially
carbohydrates
and fats)
This condition occurs mainly in children older than
six
months who are breast fed without any additional
food
(common in developing countries)
Symptoms of Marasmus include:
tight
skin, sunken eyes, little or no
fat
tissue, thin muscles, constant hunger and
fatigue
