  • Priorities change for various reasons which are either internal or external.
  • External changes may be social, political, economical, legal or technological.
  • In order to cope with a change in priorities, businesses can do two things:
    • Change deadlines, as changing the priority of one task may have a knock-on effect on the deadlines of other tasks.
    • Delegate tasks; delegate simple tasks to less senior staff when a complex task arises.
