heaven and hell

• parable of the sheep and the goats:

  'then they who will go to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life
• 'he will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more'
• 'and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth'
• heaven is thought to be a physical or a spiritual place
• heaven is a reward for both faith and actions
• purgatory: in between state where christians are cleansed in order to enter heaven, ONLY A BELIEF FOR CATHOLICS
• hell is a state of existence without god
• a place of eternal torment ruled by Satan
• awaits people who did not worship god or follow the teachings of god
