    functionalists- each institution acts like organs, if one part fails the whole system fails.
  • social solidarity
    having a shared agreement on how to behave in society. social glue bonding people together, shared experiences bonds people.

    the basic needs of society in which they can survive

    society fails to function, leading to individuals suffering anomie. lack of norms, chaos and uncertainty. eg london riots 2011
