• this theme is represented as being very important to the character in the start of the play as they care about nothing more than the acceptance of their own class and their own reputations as this would affect their classes and not the importance of the whole situation as it was not only eva in this situation in society there was many alike her
• Mr birling started off in his life as a lower class character but he has now become a higher class character due to his marriage of Mrs Birling who started off life in a high class due to her family
• Edna and Eva were both in the working class of society which is a lower class in society so they were mistreated throughout the storyline
