Positioning Map
This is an important part of your strategic planning and market segmentation plan. Products or services are ‘mapped’ together on a ‘positioning map‘. This allows them to be compared and contrasted in relation to each other.
There are two main rules of operational marketing:
1. operational marketing is only effective when there are prospects worth advertising too.
2. information is the driving force behind decision making.
Unsought product
A type of consumer product that the consumer either does not know about or knows about but does not normally consider buying. These products often require extra effort to market and sell.
Essential product
A product that is considered a basic necessity for everyday life. Examples include food, clothing, and shelter.
