• Industrial arts education is designed to make other areas of education more meaningful in the grade school
• Industrial arts is classified into two types: Handicraft and General industry
• Handicraft industry refers to the creation of objects through the use of hands
• Abaca - grows abundantly in the Bicol region,Leyte and some parts of Mindanao
• Agas - grows in some parts of Bicol,Laguna and Visayas
• Bamboo - grows abundantly all over the country
• Buri plant - it's leaves and midribs are used in making hats,baskets,mats,trays and etc
• Coconut - grows abundantly in Al parts of the country. It is called the tree of life because all it's parts are useful
• Maguey - grows in the Ilocos, Visayas and some parts of Pangasinan
• Nipa plant - found in swampy places.
• Pineapple fiber - it's leaf fiber is woven into fabrics for barong
• Pine tree - grows abundantly in cold places
• Rattan - grows in almost all provinces
• General industry consists of wood,metal, electrical, ceramics and graphic arts
• Project plan - A guide the gives direction on how to do a certain project
• Bill of materials - The quantity and description of the materials and it's cost
• Native materials - They are preferred for they are cheaper and easier to find
• Discarded materials - Recycled materials that can be used in Handicraft making
• Purpose of the project - the reasons for making the project are enumerated in this part of the project plan
• Sketch of the project - This is where the project to be done is drawn
• Procedure - The steps in making the project are outlined in this part
• Usefulness of the project - People enjoy working on a project which they can use and enjoy

• Sorting(Seiri) -This can reduce the chance of being disturbed by unnecessary items, Differentiate between important and unimportant items
• Straightening(Seiton) - this also can mean set in order
• Systematic Cleaning(Seiso) - This can mean to sweep, sanitize,shine and scrub. Keep your work area tidy.
