Edward under Northumberland

• Northumberland showed his authority by executing Somerset without trial and imprisoned Lady Jane Grey.
• Northumberland also showed his authority through the Act of Uniformity in 1552 which made it compulsory and an offence to attend church on Sundays and holy days. Otherwise you faced fines or imprisonment.
