    Narrowing of blood vessels (e.g. around the intestines during exercise) to allow more blood to divert to other areas of the body
  • Vasodilation?
    Widening of blood vessels (e.g. around the muscles during exercise) to help increase the blood flow to certain areas of the body that need more blood during exercise.
  • Blood pressure has two measurements?

    • Systolic blood pressure
    • Diastolic blood pressure
  • Systolic blood pressure
    • The pressure on the arteries when the heart contracts
    • It is the higher of the two blood-pressure values
  • Diastolic blood pressure?
    • The pressure on the arteries when the heart relaxes
    • It is the lower of the two blood-pressure values
