  • Definition: A reaction to food that trigger immune response [Produce antibody (e.g. Histamines/ other defensive agent)]
    • Common symptoms: Skin rashes, Wheezing
    • Severe symptoms: Anaphylactic shock, Difficulty breathing
  • Recommendation: Early introduction
    • Delay introduction = Increase risk of allergies
    • Introduce allergenic food early + in small portion; around 6 months, NOT before 4 months
    • Given 1st time at home rather than in daycare/ restaurant
  • For high risk infant: Talk to doctor/ Actively offer foods containing common allergens
